1. Who can audition? You may audition if:
- If you have been accepted to attend FIU beginning Summer or Fall 2009* * (High school seniors may audition as long as you have been accepted into the university.
PROOF OF ACCEPTANCE REQUIRED 
Will need to be a full time student taking 12 credits.
- If you have health insurance.
Will need a copy of insurance card.
- You are willing to give 110% dedication to the team.

2. Can I pre-register for auditions
? yes. Please see link below or click here to fill out registration form.

3. Do I need to pre-register
? No , you may also bring your completed form to auditions with you. However, pre-registering expedites your registration process when you get there. It is much easier to do it ahead of time. It is strongly recommended.

4. Do you offer an audition clinic?
not for the summer auditions. We will have clinics beginning January 2010 for the Spring 2010 auditions.

5. What do I need to bring on audition da
y? You need to bring your $ 5.00 cash audition fee, your completed registration form (unless you are pre-registered), a copy of your acceptance letter into the university or your current Panther ID# if you are already an FIU student, a copy of your current health insurance card and 2 pictures of yourself
( a head shot and a full body shot).


6. What do I need to wear on audition da
y? Dancers are encouraged to wear something that makes them stand out. Dress to impress. You MUST wear a torso bearing top. Proper dance shoes must be worn. NO street clothes allowed, NO baggy shirts and NO street shoes allowed either. Hair should be worn lose and not picked up. You should also wear full make up and most importantly a big smile.

7. Do I need to bring my own routin
e? Yes. Please bring a routine, not to exceed 1:30 seconds in the style of your choice. Please make sure the routine has NO technique in it. It needs to be ALL dancing. Technique will be asked of you separately after you perform your routine. Minimum technique required will  be : triple turns (both sides), a la seconde turns (both sides), toe touch, switch leap (both sides) leg hold tilt (both sides) and high kicks. Please bring your music on a clearly labeled CD with your name on it.

8. What should I expect from the audition process?
Upon arrival you will be asked to turn in a completed registration form with all of the requirements listed above. In return, you will receive your audition number. You will be asked to stretch and warm up on your own. You will audition on a first come, first serve basis, one at a time. The judges will take a break and results will be announced shortly after everyone has auditioned.

9. What if I don't have a lot of technique but I am a really good dancer, can I still auditio
n? no, you should wait until the Spring audition.

10. Does this team compet
e? yes. The team has been competing at the NDA Collegiate Dance Championships since  1992.  Making the squad DOES NOT guarantee you a spot on the nationals team.

11. How many dancers are you pickin
g? We will be looking for up to 10 additional dancers .

12. Can my mom/boyfriend/ friend watch audition
s? yes

5. I work, will I be able to meet the team's required activities? It's up to you. The team demands a lot of time but it can be done if you are organized and can manage your time wisely.

16.  Do you travel with the athletics  team
s? On occassion we are extended an invitation to travel with the teams. This is awarded by attendance hierarchy. The Dazzlers travel to the Sun Belt Championships every March to dance at the Men and Women's Basketball Championships supporting our Golden Panthers!

17. Why audition for the Golden Dazzler
s? Why not.? The dance team has been at Florida International University since 1989.  If you are passionate about dance and would like to continue dancing through college then this is the team for you. The FIU Golden Dazzlers is the ONLY team recognized by the unversity as the official dance team to represent the Athletics Department at Florida International University.   It's the only dance team to perform at athletic games such as football and basketball, the only dance team that gets an operational budget by the university, the only dance team that boasts a team poster and calendar, the only dance team that travels to some way games, the only dance team that competes annually at the NDA College Championships in Daytona and the only dance team that is truly a sisterhood.  It is naturally, the ONLY good choice.  To put it simply, nothing else compares to being a Golden Dazzler.  It is an experience that, as a dancer , will make your college experience whole and prepare you for future dance opportunities as well. Once a Dazzler, always a Dazzler.

18. Does the team receive scholarship
s? Dazzlers, receive all uniforms, dance shoes, boots, gold poms, travel duffel bag, all travel lodging, travel per diem, transportation, FULL book scholarship, early class registration and  team poster included as part of their program.

19. If I make the team, when do rehearsals begin?
Dancers making the team need to be available on these dates:
June 13th  Dazzler Day Retreat - Noon to 9pm
June 15th  Rehearsals begin every Monday and Wednesday -6pm to 9pm.
July 26th    09-10 team poster photo shoot
